Welcome to the X-ray Crystallography Facility
The X-ray Crystallography Facility at Imperial College London provides instruments, consumables, and expertise to help researchers crystallize biological macromolecules and solve their structures by X-ray crystallography. To aid crystallisation the facility is equipped with a Mosquito LCP nanolitre crystallisation robot, a library of 21 different crystallisation screens, a Dragonfly liquid handler for custom crystallisation screens, two confocal microscopes (one with a camera), and a UV microscope.
The facility is also home to various biophycial techniques, including Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) , Circular Dichroism (CD), and Size Exclusion Chromatography Multi Angle Light Scattering (SEC MALS).
The facility is serviced by a full-time facility manager, Dr Sam Horrell. If you are new to the facility, you can get started here. Otherwise, click on the links above fore details on the services provided.
The facility is part of the Centre for Structural Biology in the Department of Life Sciences at Imperial College London. The facility is open to all college members on a pay-as-you-go basis, as well as for collaborative projects with scientists from the wider community and industrial users interested in using the facilities. Any inquiries should be directed to the facility manager, Dr Sam Horrell (shorrell@ic.ac.uk).
